The food here doesn't miss! The catfish is actual catfish and not swai or whatever type of fish most places are passing off as catfish. It is the best next thing to home cooked. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed with 80s and 90s R&B always playing. The prices are a little cashy but it is worth it in support of this small Black-owned business that has excellent service, food, and atmosphere!

Ordered their 3 app plate- Mac and cheese mash potatoes and baked beans. Everything was so good. A friend got the 3 app too and loved all her picks as well. The corn bread is worth every penny and a great price for how big the muffin is. The inside is beautiful and clean. I’d definitely recommend going on the days they’re open!

Our party of 3 visited South Bend on June 29th. We stopped for dinner at Deja Soul. Upon entering we were impressed with the decor and the welcoming atmosphere. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was delicious! Our party had the rotisserie chicken, ribs, pork chop, Mac n cheese, greens, yams and cornbread muffins! The meals are cooked to order and served hot and fresh! Be prepared to patiently wait because they serve by ordering position rather than prioritizing dine-in over online and take out orders which is fair. We highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning to try more delectable dishes!

The food was amazing. Perfectly seasoned! Large portions! Inviting atmosphere! There was about a 30min wait, but it’s a small inconvenience for fresh, cook to order food! I love that the owners offer taste test options, which helps to narrow down your side options… and they offer a ton! I had the smothered pork chop which was so flavorful and tender. My sides were the candy yams and collard greens (chef’s kiss). My picky broke best friend (10yr old daughter) loved her catfish!! Oh- and the cornbread muffin was top tier! I’m glad I finally discovered the gem!!

The greens...the black eyed peas....the yams...the spaghetti...the dang on macaroni and cheese....the catfish!!! The cabbage bro...the chicken and waffles...the food is crazy good. If you've ate real soul food before it will bring back memories for sure. I'm a dedicated customer now.

Everything was great! We pretty much ordered most of the sides and had to order extra cornbread muffins as they were just so so good! The fried chicken was seasoned so well, we are going back for more! They had many flavors of Kool-aid jugs so we ordered 3 different flavors. But this place is a must. They were extremely busy, but it's worth the wait. You can dine in if there are seats available. Very cozy settings. Parking in the front but more parking in the back. Very friendly folks. We absolutely loved it.
